1. I have an irrational fear of the dentist.
2. Not having anybody my age at my church isn't always fun.
These 2 things don't really have much in common, but today I'm going to share with you a story, that just proves what a great God we serve.
Tomorrow ( March 16th ) I'm getting 2 teeth pulled in preparation for braces. I really really hate the dentist. Something about having people's fingers in my mouth, and just all that spit, and rubber gloves, and no. I hate it all.
Today at church I was telling one of the elderly ladies at my church about getting teeth pulled, and my extreme hatred of dentists. She asked me what time my appointment was so she could pray for me. I told her, and then kind of just left it. Didn't think much of it.
Now, my church is small. On average, we have about 25-30 people each Sunday. None of them are my age. The closest person to my age is 22. It hasn't been the easiest, seeing as I had grown up in a church with lots of kids, up until 2 years ago. I talk to the elderly people, and I still love them all, but sometimes I wish there were people my age. You know?
Anyway, tonight, evening church came along. I was sitting at the piano bench, getting ready for the service, when that elderly lady came up to me with a little card. She said "Would you like this to look at for your dentist appointment tomorrow?" I smiled and said "Of course!" and took the card. The card says:
"God is greater then any problem I have."
Plain and simple. But it really hit home for me.
God really is greater then any problem I have. Wether it's the dentist, or wishing I had people my age in my church. Anything! He is greater then it all! He is in control of every part of my life, and all I have to do is trust him. Trusting him may not always come easy, but the pay off is so worth it.
So, tomorrow, I will go to the dentist, and when my nerves seem to be getting the best of me, I will remember that my God is greater then the dentist. He will help me in my time of worry, or fear. Because he is greater then any problem I have.
I hope you all have a good week, and this could be an encouragement to you! Blessings!
Compassionately,
~Abigail Rose
Ahhh SO sweet!! I love seeing how God tied these two things together for you and showed that He is greater than BOTH problems! So sweet to see Him provide a support, even though not in the way that you would have expected. This is so so inspiring to me!! I totally don't have hardly friends where I live that are my age, and that one that I do have is moving soon, and so this really encouraged me to press forward and not let age be a restriction in pursuing friendships with other women!
ReplyDeleteYour comment made my day!! I'm so so so glad I could be an encouragement to you!! God is surely good. :) Thanks for stopping by!!
