Pink, Hedgehogs, and Journaling.

Hello there! So, today is the first actual outfit post! I'm really excited about doing outfit posts, because I love love love putting together outfits!

I wore this outfit tonight, to Bible Study, because the theme was "Pink, Red, and White Night!" and we talked about God's love. :)
I decided to go with wearing some pink, which isn't something I would normally wear! I was still able to stick with my normal style, while still adding in some pink!! It was actually fun putting together an outfit with something that I wouldn't wear too often, with something that still fit my personal style!

Since the theme was mainly centered around love, I decided to take some pictures with my loves.... My hedgehogs.
My hedgehogs hold a special place in my heart. All of them are gifts that have been given to me, by some of my favorite people. Plus, they are pretty adorable. Their names are ( from left to right ) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Philippe, Ricardo, and Roger. They are super snuggly, and yeah. I just love them a lot.
Outfit:

Floral Jeans: thrifted - Vera Wang
Pink Scarf: Rue 21
Combat Boots: thrifted - Trash

So, what have you been up to this week? I haven't been up to too much this week. I have a cold at the moment, so I haven't really been going places. Which is kind of nice, but being the social person that I am, I miss my friends! But, it's been alright. I've been playing the piano a lot, and reading. Oh, and writing letters, and journaling!

I've come to find that I actually really enjoy writing letters to my friends, and also writing in my journal. Last year, I started a journal and actually kept it up! I like to start a new journal every year on my birthday. It was actually so fun to keep a journal last year, and now I have all of the entries to look back on! This year, I've already found that I'm writing much more then I was last year, which I'm excited about! More things to look back on, next year, and the years to come. :)

Anyway, I probably should get going. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! What are you doing this weekend? I would love to hear about it! :)

Style - The Girl Who Wore Black.

I am a 15 year-old, born-again believer, and Baptist pastor's kid.
But, I like the color black.

Yeah, most pastor's kids PROBABLY wouldn't be seen in this. But, as my style has evolved, black seems to fit my style. But I will assure you, black is not the only color I wear. Infact, I love wearing a colorful maxi skirt, or a flowery dress.
But, today is not going to be a style post, even though those will come soon!
This has been on my heart recently, and I decided to try and express it into a understandable post.... bare with me here.
Anyway.
Style does not define you.

What do I mean by that? Well, for instance. I have heard the word "emo" thrown around a few times, when I wear a lot of black. I completely understand it's all in good fun, and I even get a laugh out of it! But, with that, brings up a much wider subject of style.
Normally, you wouldn't think that a Baptist pastor's kid likes to wear a lot of black. I use to think that. But as my style evolved, black seemed to fit something that I would consider "my style."

Now, I personally think that EVERY person should have their own style, and to wear the things that they feel fit their style. But while style is important, so is modesty. My parents have always had the rule, that with letting us wear jeans, they can not be tight fitting, and shirts can not be low cut, and it has to go to at least our knees. Because, while I am still trying to express my style, honoring God is much higher on the list.

I am a full believer in style, and expressing your style, but your style should always be honoring to God. Which for me, means dressing modestly. With that, comes sometimes not dressing to completely fit your style. But, what is more important? You or God? Well, the obvious answer, is God!
1 Corinthians 6:20
"For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

So, that kind of seemed like a bit of rambling, so, I'm just going to sum it up for you:
Express yourself through your style. But your style doesn't define you. But always make sure you are honoring God with it.

I hope that you enjoyed this post! I am considering doing a style series, so you all can get a little more of an idea of my style. :) Let me know what you think!
