2 Confessions - God is greater.

I have 2 confessions to make.

1. I have an irrational fear of the dentist.
2. Not having anybody my age at my church isn't always fun.

These 2 things don't really have much in common, but today I'm going to share with you a story, that just proves what a great God we serve.

Tomorrow ( March 16th ) I'm getting 2 teeth pulled in preparation for braces. I really really hate the dentist. Something about having people's fingers in my mouth, and just all that spit, and rubber gloves, and no. I hate it all.
Today at church I was telling one of the elderly ladies at my church about getting teeth pulled, and my extreme hatred of dentists. She asked me what time my appointment was so she could pray for me. I told her, and then kind of just left it. Didn't think much of it.

Now, my church is small. On average, we have about 25-30 people each Sunday. None of them are my age. The closest person to my age is 22. It hasn't been the easiest, seeing as I had grown up in a church with lots of kids, up until 2 years ago. I talk to the elderly people, and I still love them all, but sometimes I wish there were people my age. You know?

Anyway, tonight, evening church came along. I was sitting at the piano bench, getting ready for the service, when that elderly lady came up to me with a little card. She said "Would you like this to look at for your dentist appointment tomorrow?" I smiled and said "Of course!" and took the card. The card says:

"God is greater then any problem I have."

Plain and simple. But it really hit home for me.
God really is greater then any problem I have. Wether it's the dentist, or wishing I had people my age in my church. Anything! He is greater then it all! He is in control of every part of my life, and all I have to do is trust him. Trusting him may not always come easy, but the pay off is so worth it.

So, tomorrow, I will go to the dentist, and when my nerves seem to be getting the best of me, I will remember that my God is greater then the dentist. He will help me in my time of worry, or fear. Because he is greater then any problem I have.

I hope you all have a good week, and this could be an encouragement to you! Blessings!

Compassionately,

Change and Grace - Word for 2015.

Hello again, I hope you all are having a lovely week!!
A little over a week ago, I did something a bit... different. I temporary dyed my hair dark red!! :D ( auburn )
I've wanted to have red hair since I was a little girl, and my parents finally let me do it! It should last for about 6-ish weeks, but it will most likely leave a permanent red tint. Which I'm not complaining about. ;) ( you can't tell in the picture too well, but once I have time I plan on taking outfit pictures for a new style post, and you can see it better then! :) )

Also, as I'm sure many of you have heard of, some people like to pick a word for themselves to strive for in the new year. I decided to try this. To be honest, last year I didn't pick a word. It was at the end of the year, that God showed me what word represented 2014 for me. So, this year, the word that keeps popping up in my head is:
Grace.
There are so many situations in life, where we are called to give grace.
The bible talks a lot about grace. Here's just a few verses:

-Ephesians 4:7
"But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it."

-Titus 2:11
"For the grace of God that brings salvation shall appear to all men."

Those are just 2 of the many verses about grace!
Jesus has given us so much grace in life, and he calls us to strive to be like him. Which also means to strive to give grace.

Now, what is giving grace?
Well, to be honest. We can't. I mean, we can, but only by the help of our Savior! That goes the same for so many other things, as well.
But, as for an example of giving grace, what are some ways that Jesus gave us grace?
Well, the most obvious one would be that, as sinners, we don't deserve to have eternal life. We deserve to go to hell. But, Jesus loves us so much, that he was able to look past all of our sins, and give us salvation. He gave us grace, when we didn't deserve it.

So, today, we can give grace in situations like, if someone has wronged you. They may not deserve to be forgiven, but as Christians, we are called to give grace, as Jesus has given grace.

With all that being said, this year, I will be striving to give grace to others. In every situation. I would like to challenge you to do the same as well! :)

I pray you are having a good day/week. Blessings!
